Paul is very safety conscious, he will get irritated if somebody cuts him up, or if a certain somebody comes along in their beemer and starts moving his cones. But those are car drivers. Towards bikers he is a gentleman giving novice riders the time of day to gain their confidence.
Should the weather be favourable he will take you around some great roads, before you know it you will be a natural rider, the twistier the road the better!
He also promised to stop smoking, which is hard on a bike anyway.
CBT - Valuable training all drivers should be made to do. Makes you more aware even as a car driver. I have had 2 CBTs the one Paul did was far superior he went above and beyond the training needed, much safer.
DAS - Comprehensive and timely advise, 1 on 1 training spot on.

Having ridden a 185 as a teenager, 30 years ago, I wanted to get back on the road but this time with a bigger bike. Therefore I opted to do the Direct Access scheme. I chose Ridesafe as Paul was recommended to me through Wyverns in Weston super Mare. I did not regret this as his courses are cheaper than Bristol and I was impressed by his professional instruction, patience and encouragement. Having done the CBT in August, I passed my theory test and have now a full unrestricted licence having passed Mod 1 and Mod 2. Paul is a wealth of knowledge about road use, bikes and gear. cbt & mod1. contacted a few training schools but was impressed with Pauls no nosence bull shite approach which i received from other trainers whom one had his 16 year old son assess me for a direct axcess course when he was not even qualified to do so.

I have just passed DAS, starting at CBT with Ridesafe and wanted to thank Paul and his wife by way of feedback. What can I say, having ridden a 50cc Yamaha at 16 , nothing since and now age 45, a G.P. with a family, and little spare time I chose Ridesafe due to the professional website and testimonials and competative costs. Pauls approach towards training is sensitive and balances criticism with encouragement. Communication- verbal, written and (occasionally non verbal!) is reliable,efficient and timely in its delivery and uses humour in just the right places. Paul strives to accomodate as much as he can without compromising safety, and sessions are supplimented with much welcomed tea and coffee whilst theory is discussed. Roadcraft sessions are supportive and safety is tantamount but I felt reassured that Paul was keeping a watchful eye at all times and advising 'live' via the intercom to aid improvement. I trusted Pauls overview of the road when riding and his pre-test advice prepared me well. I hope I continue to enjoy riding as much now that I have passed as I did learning with Paul. I even found myself singing on the way to my mod 1, whilst keeping a safe eye out also obviously! I would thoroughly recommend Ridesafe from my experience and will be looking at further training as soon as I can with Paul-Thanks mate, from a now 'Moto-'G.P.''

Having never ridden a motorbike before but eager to learn, I took my CBT with Ridesafe and knew instantly that I would be forever hooked on bikes!
Paul and Mike were brilliant, giving clear instruction throughout the day that allowed me to pick things up quickly but always ensuring that I moved on at my own pace - at no point did I feel pressured or rushed into the next exercise. The atmosphere throughout the day was very friendly as well which helped to relax the nerves that I had prior to starting, and at the end of the day I had my DL196 and was both confident and eager to get on a bike again.

Iv`e had my bike for over two years but never had the confidence to pass a CBT . After my husband pushing me to do the CBT we had a chat with Paul who was recommended to us by a friend and a few days later I was at Paul's training center . After finding Ridesafe on a search engine I decided to make contact to enquire about cost and availability with the intention of doing DAS. Within a matter of a couple of hours I had a response from Paul and the next day had booked the CBT. I was very impressed with the CBT course Paul delivered and was confident at that point that Ridesafe would get me through my Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests.

For a total of two and a half days training I was confident enough and competent enough to have passed CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 and it was all thanks to Paul and Rob's excellent instruction techniques (and plenty of coffee to keep us alert!)

After many years of riding I decided it was time to give something back. I decided that Freewheelers EVS was for me and approached Paul for some training for the RoSPA advanced test. I had been meaning to gain my bike license for some years when a chance meeting in the street with Paul fired me into action. Well, where the heck do it start? - there's way too much great feedback to put on here, & I promised I wouldn't write an essay! Rosie - A2 125cc Test Course/Enhanced Rider Scheme

I have just taken advantage of the offer of free training for FreeWheelers members with Paul at Ridesafe and I have to say I was delighted at the depth and duration of the session. I was expecting an hour or so of riding with a summary of points to work on for improvement, after all this was a free offer from a training business. What actually unfolded was a full day of rides of increasing length, interspersed with discussion and analysis over coffee and lunch breaks. Make no mistake, Paul is offering serious, intensive training with the benefit of the insight of a professional, full time motorcycle instructor. He was able to zero in on the issues that I had and help me develop my technique over the course of the day to the point where he judged me and Keith, my fellow student, to be ready to apply for the RoSPA test. Paul is making a very significant and valuable contribution to Freewheelers in offering this training and I sincerely urge riders to take up the offer. (It is also good fun, as Paul has a dry and entertaining sense of humour.)

From start (CBT) to finish (DAS) I was made to feel as though Paul and Rob were freinds, without them ever loosing their proffesionalism. The training they provided for me was first class, it was never rushed and when my Mod 1 test date came around I felt confident I could pass. When I failed (Stupid mistake!) they pulled out all the stops to get me a quick re-test (which I passed). They also worked hard to get me a quick Mod 2 date, which due to thier excellent training I passed first time.

Having just completed and passed my Mod 2 test (Direct Access) I can only state that the Tuition . Training, Coaching and Advice that was given to me was second to none. Paul runs a very professional outfit, with excellent facilities and good test/training bikes. I had decided earlier in the year to take my CBT followed by my MOD1 in June 2010, due to work load I was only able to take my MOD2 test this month which I sailed through with only 1 minor fault in the most horrendous weather conditions. My tuition was first class and Paul went out of his way to accommodate my training and tests to fit in with my busy work schedule. Just been back only an hour since I was out with Paul doing my CBT, and I feel quite confident in what he's told me and taught me to apply with Riding. Even walking back I'm looking at traffic as if I was still on the Motorcycle to make sure it's safe. Was brilliant tutoring and patience from Paul, and you never feel intimidated, but always on the same level. Can't wait to go back to eventually do my lessons, then my Test! My son, temporarily back from his travels wanted to learn to ride a motor bike and we decided to learn together. I had ridden a bike 40 years previously! Finding that the training process is much more comprehensive than it was my son decided to wait the few months until his 21st birthday and returned to his travels but I, having started by taking the theory test, was going to finish. I approached the CBT in the knowledge that the T in CBT stands for training not test. The thorough training was completed in the friendly and professional manner that encouraged me to continue with the Direct Access Course. I approached the training on a bigger bike with a mixture of excitement and trepidation but as promised the thorough basic skills of the CBT course meant that it was a matter of being familiar with the bike. The clear instruction and patience of the trainer saw me through both modules of the test first time; the first part in torrential rain which I was told to get accustomed to if riding in UK (especially in our British summer). I was so happy with the successful outcome, achieved within 3 weeks, that I bought the bike and the essential gear to go with it from Ridesafe.
With a big thanks to Rob, Paul and Sonia I am enjoying my motorcycling whilst continuing to learn on a daily basis.

I done my CBT with Paul and it was a nice enjoyable fun day, this was my first time on a bike and i was made to feel good and given full support even when i felt a little stupid. At first i was a little stressed but Paul has a great way to make you feel at ease.
I completed my Mod 1 and 2 with Rob, who is also an excellent instructor; both guys are really approachable and have a huge wealth of knowledge between them.

I have undertaken the CBT training today; the last time I was on a bike was 24 years ago so I was a little nervous to say the least, from the minute I arrived to start my training Paul made me feel at ease, he took time to explain and encourage and drive home the safety aspect of riding a bike.

Control of the bike through the cones before starting out on the road was undertaken with patients and with excellent instruction, Paul explained bike positions while on the road and of course the all important life saver checks.

The ride out on the road was excellent, you are reassured from the moment you leave the training area by Paul through radio, driving home, speed, position, life saver checks and the all important encouragement when you do well.

Thanks Paul....I look forward to undertaking the next stage of my training with Ridesafe!!

I am more than happy to extend my compliments and recomendations on the recent CBT training that i received with Paul today 03 May 2010 . having been absent from motorcycling for quite a few years. I had decided to renew my urge for biking once again (at the Ripe and mature age of 51). Paul was very informative, calm,Instructive, and motivational, and even though I knew how to ride a geared motorcyle, i had brought with me long established habbits that needed correcting. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Ridesafe, and have in fact booked my theory test and am currently arranging dates with Paul to take my DAS as soon as possible.

It all began after watching "Wild Hogs" , the film about a a few aging old friends who decide they should do a "Road Trip" on the bikes before "we get too old!"

Well a few beers later and it was decided...."yep, we should do that!" America was a bit far for a weeks riding, so the Provence Alps was the next best thing, and before you could say "When was the last time you rode a bike Mark?" .....it was booked.

The last time I rode a bike was when I was 35ish and that was just a CB350 SG. 10 years later and I was about to ride in the Alps.

After talking with Paul, he took me through very thorough and enjoyable refresher sessions, from a nervous start on a 125, ending up finishing doing the ERS course on a 600cc Fazer. Paul was "excellent" in his teaching methods on how to ride safely, position the bike on various road situations, including Motorway training and how to ride on steep winding roads "like the Alps"

Thanks Paul, well worth the money, can't wait to get back on the bike and progress to the Advanced Training soon.

To say I was an absolute beginner when I contacted Ridesafe is no understatement - I'd never even sat on a motorbike before, let alone ridden one. From the very beginning everything was explained to me clearly and I felt reassured. Paul's passion for and commitment to safe riding is obvious. The whole CBT experience was fantastic. Paul's patience with a very wobbly starter never faltered and he soon had me figure-of-eight-ing around the car park. Within just a few hours we were out on the open road and then it was mission accomplished: CBT passed! I took my CBT the other day with RideSafe, having never even ridden a bike before. With the guidance of the instructor I quickly managed to get used to the controls of the bike. After doing some basic control tests around the car park we spent the rest of the time riding around Weston-Super-Mare, where the instructor was very helpful guiding me through any difficulties and giving me hints and tips to ride safely. having taken my CBT, I honestly can't recommend these guys enough, very helpful and very good.

I found the course very helpful, just what I needed. Paul was very good, he let me learn at my own pace. After finding Ridesafe as the nearest CBT training on Google, I e-mailed and asked for some more info, with really prompt response!
I had a good few hours with Paul and passed my CBT on an automatic but then came back a few days later for a few hours training on a manual as that is the bike that I want and I want to go on and do the DAS in the near future as well.
Hopefully will be seeing Paul again soon for that DAS training and test!

Fantastic training, appoints available in a very flexible way with not only a great instructor but a genuinely nice guy!

I had to retake my CBT in order to take my A2 license after two years of riding. CBT was taken in the exact time needed for me to pass but no corners were cut and no time or money was wasted as a result.

Training for both Module 1 and Module 2 was comprehensive and swift but not rushed with helpful hints and tips given all the way! Really nice guy, felt like he was interested/enthusiastic to teach, only regret is not using you guys before as there are so many 'jobsworths' in the business. A refreshing and comprehensive course. Highly recommended!

Wow, just finished the DSA Enhanced Rider Scheme (1 and a half hours ago) with Paul. What a fantastic learning experience.

I was nervous, having only passed my A2 Licence last Tuesday, but the E. R. S. adds all the skills you don’t do in the test, fast A Roads, Motorway and the Cheddar Gorge, but skills you need to be safe on the open road.

I used Paul’s restricted Frazer 600 to build confidence before I get my new 600cc bike. After the first hour, I could not stop grinning! Paul takes all the pressure off and skillfully builds your ability and confidence. Definitely recommend.

I had not ridden for over 20 years, but Paul with his patient and calm manner encouraged me to find my confidence very quickly. Within 90 minutes I was riding a bigger bike than I had every ridden before.

Having never had a Licence before in my life and being taken everywhere, I decided to go for a Bike Licence.

I have been on the back of a bike for over 27 years. I took my CBT in December 08 with Paul and he was just brilliant, he gives you the confidence with praise and is very patient.

I took my theory test on March 19th and thought I would try and get a test before the new rules came in. I managed to get a test at Taunton and then phoned Paul. He was very flexible and even managed to fit a session in on the Sunday and Tuesday.

I had a great time with Paul, very relaxed but very efficient and it was reassuring to have him behind you and “in your ear” to make you aware of developing road situations before you were on top of them.

Paul was then able to award me with the E. R. S Certificate at the end of our few hours and I would advised anyone who is considering getting on a bike again after a few years away, do it the right way and see Paul first, he will bring back the enjoyment of biking in a safe and professional way.

Having got back to biking after 25 years just a few weeks ago, expert tuition from Paul gave me a huge amount of confidence after just a few hours. By the end of my 2nd half day session, I had enough confidence to be awarded the E. R. S. Certificate with an A grade.

Paul’s method of instruction is without doubt effective, I would recommend Ridesafe to any one and Paul has given me the tuition to be able to take my RoSPA test in just 2 afternoon sessions.

All this has maximised my enjoyment and given me the confidence to ride safely in all weather conditions. Above all, remember good riders are trained not born, a true life saver.

It’s been some 32 years since I last rode a motorbike and with both my sons now riding I was tempted (and wanted to show them I wasn’t past it!), so took my Theory Test and booked my CBT and Pre-Practical Test Tuition with Paul.

Paul quickly but firmly showed me how to progress to a High Standard in such a friendly and relaxed manner, that it was not like being watched and pulled apart for one error, unless it was plainly dangerous, which quite frankly I wouldn’t have wanted any other way, looking back.

Thanks Paul, I really enjoyed it and couldn’t have done it without you. FACT!

Enhanced Rider Scheme – it helps you to properly ride that new bike, to get the best out of it and yourself. It’s an important step on the road to being a better, competent rider. I believe everyone should seriously consider it part of the riding ‘package’.

Good Instruction is for life and I am quite sure that Paul’s voice will save me from many silly and potentially dangerous situations on the bike; just as I still have my I.A.M Instructor giving me advice as I drive in the car.

I can't thank you enough for today. After coming off a new bike, going from a 125 to 600 I completely lost my confidence. But after today's course which I really enjoyed, it gave me confidence back.

After so many years away from bikes, (the gears were on the right hand side) I was very pleased to regain the confidence I once had.

Paul is a very good instructor who guided me through the cones, through the gears and made me safely aware of the braking system. Very soon I was in traffic on the open road and then on into Weston-super-Mare with all its problems for a novice rider.

Paul once again was brilliant in giving me confidence and all the time (without seeming to) pushing the safety issue. Thanks and I will be back for the rest.
